Piaget, a name synonymous with luxury and craftsmanship, introduces a new capsule collection to celebrate the start of another 12-year cycle. This collection pays homage to the Dragon and Phoenix, symbols deeply rooted in Chinese culture, representing masculinity and femininity, strength and rebirth, and embodying ultimate harmony and balance.

The collection showcases a range of daring and exceptional watches and High Jewellery pieces, culminating in a pair of extravagant, made-to-order High Jewellery cuff watches. Each creation in this collection is a vibrant expression of emotion, exuberance, and Maison’s commitment to extraordinary Metiers d’Art and watchmaking savoir-faire.

Since 2006, the enamelling virtuoso Anita Porchet has been collaborating with Piaget, bringing her unparalleled expertise in miniature enamel artistry to the Maison. Porchet’s patience and passion have been instrumental in creating Piaget’s annual Lunar New Year watches. This year, she presents two 38mm Altiplano Zodiac references, featuring a modern and vibrant interpretation of the Dragon and Phoenix.

Limited to 38 pieces each, the watches’ dials depict either a majestic blue Dragon or a Phoenix in an array of red, pink, and orange hues, soaring among clouds set against a backdrop of carved white and grey mother-of-pearl. The masterful cloisonné enamelling and Porchet’s signature interplay of light and shadow bring these scenes to life. Gold engraving on the Dragon’s scales and the Phoenix’s plumage adds depth and dimension, making these timepieces not just symbols of Chinese culture, but universal emblems of artistry and elegance.

The collection also includes four new High Jewellery watches. A 41mm Altiplano High Jewellery Dragon watch features Porchet’s exquisite paillonné enamel work alongside a powerfully detailed gold-engraved Dragon. Its red lacquered eyes and a black opal fireball held in its claws radiate from a stunning sunburst engraving, all framed by diamonds on the lugs and bezel. Powered by Piaget’s historic 830P Manufacture ultra-thin, hand-wound mechanical movement, this watch is limited to eight numbered editions.

The Dragon motif continues with the new Piaget Emperador watch, featuring a flying tourbillon in a mesmerizing construction. This gold-engraved Dragon winds sensually around the case and dials, set against a backdrop of snow-set sapphires and diamonds that mimic a starry blue sky. This 46.5mm watch is a flamboyant encounter between high watchmaking and inspired jewellery, representing Piaget’s commitment to unexpected beauty.

Finally, two Phoenix High Jewellery watches offer a feminine and precious interpretation. One model features a plumage of marquise and brilliant-cut diamonds on a 32mm watch, enhanced by gold engraving details that flow into an asymmetrical dial motif, complemented by a gold bracelet in Piaget’s Decor Palace finish. The second model blends ruby and white gold, with each design limited to eight pieces.
