Automobili Lamborghini has introduced a groundbreaking development in its lineup with the launch of the Urus SE, the first hybrid plug-in model of the renowned Lamborghini Super SUV. Making the debut during the Volkswagen Group Media Night, the Urus SE distinguishes itself with a fresh design and enhanced aerodynamics, incorporating leading-edge on-board technology and an 800 CV hybrid powertrain, elevating the traditional Lamborghini driving experience by enhancing comfort, performance, efficiency, emissions reduction, and overall driving pleasure. The hybrid system, which combines a thermal engine and an electric motor, achieves unparalleled torque and power levels, establishing the Urus SE as a standout model in its class and reducing emissions by 80%.

The driving experience of the Urus SE is unrivalled due to its innovative plug-in hybrid system which significantly augments vehicle dynamics and performance across various terrains and conditions. This enhancement is partially attributed to the new electric torque vectoring system between the axles and an electronic rear differential, which increases power and torque across the rpm range.

The re-engineered twin-turbo 4.0 V8 engine is harmoniously integrated with an electric powertrain, producing 620 CV (456 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. The electric component adds 192 CV (141 kW) and 483 Nm of torque. This strategic calibration between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor yields a total power output of 800 CV, optimizing performance across all driving conditions. A 25.9-kWh lithium-ion battery positioned strategically within the vehicle supports this robust system.

An innovative feature of the Urus SE is its centrally-located longitudinal electric torque vectoring system, paired with an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch that adeptly distributes torque between the front and rear axles. This system, along with a new electronic limited-slip differential at the rear, allows for precise oversteering management, mimicking the agility of a high-performance sports car.

The Urus SE offers improved torque and power at any engine speed while boasting superior performance metrics in its category. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 312 km/h, thanks to a favourable weight-to-power ratio and advanced aerodynamics that include a new rear diffuser and spoiler enhancing downforce and stability at high speeds.

In terms of design, the Urus SE updates the SUV’s aesthetic to optimize aerodynamic flow, featuring a new hood design that enhances the vehicle’s sporty and muscular appearance. New matrix LED headlight clusters and a redesigned front grille further modernize the front fascia, while at the rear, the changes continue with a new cargo hatch design and integrated “Y” light taillights that harmonize with a sportier rear diffuser. The interior of the Urus SE has also received significant upgrades, focusing on a design that embodies Lamborghini’s “feel like a pilot” ethos. The cabin features a new 12.3-inch touchscreen interface that is part of the updated Lamborghini Infotainment System (LIS), which is easier to navigate and offers detailed telemetry specifically for the SE model.

Customization options for the Urus SE are extensive, with over 100 exterior colours and 47 interior colour combinations available, alongside unique embroidery options through the Ad Personam program. Lamborghini has also introduced four new Electric Performance Strategies (EPS) that work in conjunction with the traditional driving modes, offering tailored driving experiences that range from purely electric city driving to performance-focused settings that harness both the electric and combustion engines for dynamic off-road capabilities.
