Automobili Pininfarina introduces Bruce Wayne-inspired hypercars that echo Gotham City

Automobili Pininfarina has developed a series of bespoke pure-electric vehicles that draw inspiration from DC’s Bruce Wayne, created in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and Relevance International. Reflecting the characteristics of Bruce Wayne—a visionary entrepreneur with a keen interest in advanced innovation and sustainable technology—these vehicles resonate with Wayne’s sophisticated and refined taste. This taste aligns perfectly with Automobili Pininfarina’s tailored Italian craftsmanship and luxurious client experiences, allowing customers to work alongside artisans and designers at the Cambiano Atelier to shape their ‘dream car.’

Bruce Wayne’s cinematic identity has influenced the creation of two uniquely exclusive versions of both the Automobili Pininfarina B95 hyper Barchetta and the Battista hyper GT. These models, named ‘Gotham’ and ‘Dark Knight’, embody the opulent lifestyle of a cultural legend who has been a staple in various media since 1939. The launch of these cars will take place on BruceWayneX.com and will be showcased later at an exclusive, invite-only retail theatre concept this summer, where an Automobili Pininfarina Battista will be displayed.

Automobili Pininfarina has introduced two distinct versions of the B95 hyper Barchetta and the Battista hyper GT—Gotham and Dark Knight—each equipped with unique and innovative technical features. Both cars are powered by a robust 120kWh lithium-ion battery and four motors, producing a staggering 1,900hp. This formidable power setup enables each model to accelerate from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in under two seconds, outpacing current Formula 1 cars.

Both the Battista and B95 models feature new HMI display enhancements inspired by Wayne Enterprises, including an instruction voice modelled after Bruce Wayne’s loyal assistant, Alfred Pennyworth. The Battista models also boast new performance features such as tailgate shark fins and louver openings on the carbon fibre wings at both the front and rear, improving aerodynamic efficiency towards the rear airbrake and along the sides of the vehicle. Finishing touches include Wayne Enterprises logos on the side skirts and roof, with each model sporting a unique aluminium chassis and door plate that draw inspiration from Bruce Wayne.

The exterior of the Gotham Battista is painted in Argento Vittorio gloss, accented with a Nero Torino gloss-painted Goccia roof. It includes illuminated branding elements made from brushed and polished anodized aluminium. The cars sit on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloy wheels with a Prezioso Evoluzione gloss black face and matt black channel rim. The Gotham B95 shares similar wheel aesthetics but includes matt black inner and gloss black outer rings, Titan calipers, and a brushed aluminium anodized black rim centre lock ring.

Emphasizing their ‘Dream Cars Made Real’ philosophy, the interiors of the Battista Gotham and Dark Knight cars are newly designed, featuring a large curved glass roof section to enhance the interior ambience with natural light. The Gotham specification is designed to mirror Bruce Wayne’s civilian sophistication. The B95 and Battista models feature interiors of distinctive tan leather with bespoke quilting on the centre panels and tan stitching.

Conversely, the Dark Knight specification embodies Bruce Wayne’s technological prowess used in his crusade against crime in Gotham City. These vehicles are upholstered in black Alcantara and leather with a distinctive black and gold duo-tone contrast stitch. The Dark Knight Battista’s exterior features Nero Profondo gloss paint with a matching Nero Torino ‘Goccia’ roof and Glorioso ceramic-polished rims. The Dark Knight B95 mirrors this aesthetic. Each of these four designs incorporates subtle branding of Wayne Enterprises, customized seat embroidery, and the Alfred-inspired voice, encapsulating Bruce Wayne’s persona and the innovative spirit of Wayne Enterprises.
