In 2021, Bianchet, an independent brand known for its family-owned and operated structure, launched the B1.618 Tourbillon Openworked, setting the stage for its innovative approach to watchmaking. Building on this, Bianchet has now introduced the B1.618 Flying Tourbillon Sport GMT, a watch designed to meet the demands of active travellers through its dual-time GMT functionality.

The Flying Tourbillon Sport GMT features a tonneau case, echoing the dimensions of the Grande Date model, and measures 43mm in width, 51mm in length, and 14.35mm in thickness. It is crafted to withstand shocks up to 5000G and boasts water resistance up to 100m. The watch comes in two variations: a 55g carbon case blending high-density carbon and titanium powder, and a 61g hybrid model with a carbon middle case plus a titanium bezel and caseback. Both models are distinguished by a polished titanium crown adorned with a coloured rubber ring, and feature glare-proof sapphire crystals on both the front and back.

The dial design adheres to the golden ratio, showcasing Bianchet’s signature contemporary aesthetic while facilitating an intuitive reading of time. It includes a 24-hour subdial for reference time at the top, animated by a rotating globe in synchronization with the hour hand, and a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock accentuated with hand-applied lacquer. The proprietary hand-wound movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a 90-hour power reserve.

Bianchet’s latest offering comes in six distinct references, with the carbon case available in white, blue, red, or green accents, and the hybrid case model featuring blue or red rubber accents. Each variant is equipped with a vulcanized natural rubber strap, complemented by a titanium folding clasp and an additional black rubber strap for versatility. The Flying Tourbillon Sport GMT is priced at CHF 75,500 (excluding taxes), marking a new chapter in Bianchet’s quest to blend high performance with high fashion in the realm of Haute Horlogerie.
