RUF Automobile, renowned for its 80-year legacy in the automotive industry, has long been celebrated for its exceptional work on Porsches. Known for its bespoke creations built on Porsche bodies and chassis, RUF gained recognition as a full-fledged manufacturer, elevating the sports car experience. Now, with a well-established presence in the United States, RUF North America has proudly delivered its first US production-spec vehicle, the 2024 RUF SCR Supercar.

The SCR is an embodiment of engineering excellence. While it boasts a distinct Porsche-like profile, it is the second RUF model built entirely from the ground up. The vehicle features an innovative carbon-fiber monocoque chassis with an integrated roll cage, enhancing its structural rigidity. This advanced platform, complete with a rear engine and manual transmission, stands out in the modern sports car realm, marking a significant chapter in RUF’s history as a manufacturer.

The 2024 SCR’s heart is a RUF-designed 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine, delivering 510 hp at 8,270 rpm and 346 lb-ft of torque. This power is directed to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, propelling the car to a top speed of nearly 199 mph.

RUF’s prowess in engineering is also evident in the car’s sophisticated suspension and braking systems. The SCR features a four-wheel double-wishbone suspension with electronically adjustable, horizontally-opposed coilovers, and a state-of-the-art braking system comprised of ventilated and cross-drilled ceramic-composite brakes.

Unveiled in an elegant Ivory White exterior with a black and gray Alcantara interior, the debut unit showcases handcrafted carbon fiber bodywork. Aerodynamic enhancements include a fixed rear spoiler, sports mirrors, and integrated door handles. The SCR, weighing just 2,756 pounds, boasts a rapid acceleration time of 3.4 seconds from 0-100 kph.

Inside, this first unit features RUF’s carbon-fiber lollipop bucket seats with Pepita inserts, red stitching, and SCR logos, harmonizing with the red calipers and centerlock caps. The cabin is equipped with power windows, LED lighting, and a comprehensive instrument panel centered around a speedometer.

The first owner in the US took delivery of their 2024 RUF SCR in December 2023. RUF plans to produce only 70 units of this model, all of which have already been claimed despite their seven-figure price. The exact number of units destined for the US remains undisclosed, but the base price in the States is around $1.02 million.
