When and How?
The “High Season” and recommended period to plan your stay at Banwa runs from December through to May, due to the lower chances of rain. However, with temperatures rarely dropping below 30 degrees in the “Low Season”, the island is a pleasant destination throughout the entire year. The best way to access the private island is via private aviation or commercial flights from Manila or Hong Kong.

Banwa maintains strong links to the local community of Palawan, thus the culture and philosophies of the Tagbanwa people are reflected in many aspects of your stay. The oldest ethnic group of the Philippines are very nature-loving and environment-conscious people, which is an approach you will find in different aspects on the private island, such as food.
With respect to the ethos of healthy eating, Banwa mainly works with products grown on a local organic farm, which does not only provide ethically cultivated produce for the guests and staff but also education for the Banwa team and the surrounding villages. In fact, sustainable agricultural practices such as vermiculture and apiculture are being taught to the local communities by Banwas team, the ultimate goal for this off-island staff village and farm is to be totally self-sufficient both in terms of power and food production.

Diving enthusiasts most likely also be interested in a one day trip to Tubbataha Reef, widely acknowledged to be one of the world’s top 10 dive sites.
Land-based sports such as Golf and Tennis are also offered at Banwa, and the wellness facilities include a fully equipped gym, massage suite, and Pilates studio. For the hikers amongst Banwas visitors, the island has a lot to offer. Palawan is known to be an incredible region for those who enjoy exploring panoramic views on foot.
