Porsche has unveiled the third generation of the Panamera, presenting it in a breathtakingly unique form. Accompanying this completely reimagined model, Porsche revealed a one-of-a-kind vehicle in Shanghai: the Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch. This exceptional car serves as a showcase for the extraordinary capabilities of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, highlighting the Sonderwunsch program’s commitment to bespoke craftsmanship. “Sonderwunsch,” meaning “special wishes” in German, aptly describes the extensive customization possibilities offered by this program, allowing for the realization of highly personal and exclusive automotive dreams.

Customers can choose from an extensive array of factory options including colours, upholstery, decors, and accentuating details. But for those seeking an even more personalized and exclusive touch, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program steps in. This program provides a comprehensive service, including consultation, planning, and the meticulous realization of custom colour and material requests, even extending to the creation of one-off custom models.

The showcase model, the Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch, is a testament to Porsche’s artistic prowess. It features an innovative two-tone finish, with the newly developed Leblon Violet Metallic—a violet hue with a hint of chestnut—seamlessly transitioning into solid black towards the lower third of the car. The depth of design continues with black doorsills, front and rear spoiler lips, and tinted headlights, taillights, and windows.

The tailpipes are finished in Bronzite, while the car’s clear coat contains flakes vaporized with real gold, creating a mesmerizing depth effect. The exterior is further enhanced with pinstripes in the new Avium Metallic colour, incorporating an integrated Sonderwunsch logo. This meticulous attention to detail extends to the 21-inch center-lock wheels and side window surrounds, also finished in Avium Metallic, and the carefully crafted logos on the rear.

Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, along with Porsche Classic, are renowned for their skill in enhancing and restoring unique sports cars, combining expert craftsmanship with an eye for detail. In line with its Co-Creation strategy, Porsche is revitalizing its legendary Sonderwunsch program from the late 1970s. This program allows for the design of individualized, one-off cars, co-created by the customer and professionally executed by Porsche.

The Sonderwunsch program’s services include Factory Commissioning for personalized colour and material requests during production, as well as Factory Re-Commissioning and Factory One-Off services after vehicle delivery. While Factory Re-Commissioning focuses on individual colours and materials, Factory One-Off involves systematic new technical developments. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur or Porsche Classic’s technical experts oversee these processes, depending on the vehicle’s age.

The Panamera Turbo Sonderwunsch was brought to life through the Factory Re-Commissioning process, exemplifying the bespoke capabilities of this service. Customers interested in personalizing their Porsche can contact the Sonderwunsch Team via their Porsche Center, arranging for subsequent Factory Re-Commissioning with Porsche Cars North America. Each car is then transported to the manufacturer for customization as per the client’s specifications, with transportation and registration details tailored to each customer’s specific needs.
