Three hundred years ago, Parrot Cay (name of the island, originally Pirate Cay) was a perfect hiding place for pirates waiting to attack Spanish treasure fleets, or for hiding from the authorities, with Anne Bonny the most well known among the vagabonds. Today, Como Parrot Cay is a private island resort in the Turks and Caicos, with 1,000 unspoilt acres and a mile-long white beach. Beachside houses and villas have white wash interiors and chic teak finishing, with many featuring plunge and infinity pools. There are also very large residences available to rent — tucked away in secluded spots on the island but with full access to the resort’s many facilities.

The island’s two restaurants serve a range of fine dining and casual dishes, including healthy COMO Shambhala Cuisine, while COMO Beach Club is open daily for drinks by the sand. Week long yoga programmes are held throughout the year and there is a substantial, fully equipped gym. Watersports, diving and island excursions complete the COMO Parrot Cay experience.
