Louis Vuitton Reveals Its Sustainability Commitments In Paris

From 29 August to 10 October 2018 at Galeries Lafayette, the Maison is taking part in the Go For Good movement, a natural echo of its sustainable creative experience. Share

Galeries Lafayette initiated the Go For Good movement with a view to highlighting brands’ environmental, social and local commitments. Given its history, Louis Vuitton naturally falls within the scope of this movement and focuses on three cherished sectors in the Maison’s heritage. Fine Leather Goods, the quintessence of Louis Vuitton, embodies a strong Environmental commitment through its famous natural cowhide leather, which is tanned using plant extracts.

Fragrance takes an innovative approach through the eco-design of the bottles. They can be refilled at perfume fountains, making them customisable and eco-responsible in equal measure.

When it comes to Social responsibility, the UNICEF charity bracelets combine fashion and generosity. Louis Vuitton donates 40% of the bracelets’ value to protecting the most vulnerable children.

Last but not least, the Maison is proud to have been awarded the “Living Heritage Company” distinction in recognition of its Local know-how and traditional leather craftsmanship.

These exceptional product sectors illustrate over twelve years of Louis Vuitton’s commitment to Sustainable Development.
