The Chinese calendar is a sophisticated time-keeping system that draws its roots from nature’s rhythm, revolving around the solar terms and lunar phases, essential to agriculture and traditional practices. This calendar intricately weaves the cycles of the moon with the solar year, creating a lunisolar masterpiece. Each Chinese month aligns with the moon’s phases, averaging around 29.53 days, leading to a lunar year that’s roughly 10.88 days shorter than its solar counterpart.
To ensure the alignment with solar years, an embolismic month is periodically added, a feature flawlessly incorporated in the Endeavour Chinese Calendar watch.
