In the heart of the valley of Atxondo, the Asador Etxebarri restaurant is located in a breathtaking natural landscape, a perfect spot to experience fresh, home-made ingredients, grilled with meticulously selected firewood.
The authentic Spanish cuisine mastered by Chef-owner Victor Arguinzoniz, and the simplicity of his dishes, make of Etxebarri a unique culinary experience.
Among the signature dishes there are: homemade chorizo tartar, Palamos prawns and tomahawk steak, all have a smoking flavor, including desserts.
Chef Arguinzoniz was born and raised in the same village where the restaurant is situated. He taught himself cooking, and master his skills with grills. When first opened in 1990, him, and his uncle, wanted to combine simplicity by locally-sourced ingredients, and authenticity by preparing traditional Spanish dishes.
The atmosphere reflects what’s on the menu; rustic and homely touches, surrounded by bricked walls and wooden tables. The restaurant is spread on a bar downstairs and two dining areas upstairs and whilst the presentation of the plates is crafted with art, plates are not only a feast for the palates but for the eyes too.
