ALO, a destination for meticulously thought out French food and service in Toronto

Opened in July of 2015, Alo is a contemporary French restaurant located atop a heritage building in downtown Toronto. Share

Alo’s cuisine is internationally inspired and celebrates the finest in seasonal ingredients paired with a genuine sense of welcome.  The Dining Room serves blind, multi-course tasting menus. Comfortable tables accommodate 2-6 guests, while a high top counter faces our open kitchen for an especially engaging dining experience.

Alo’s chic Barroom, situated in an adjacent room, offers a succinct à la carte food menu to complement its classically-inspired cocktails. Reservations for both the Dining Room and Barroom open in two month blocks.

We are refiners: we take time-honoured comforts and seek to do them better than we did last time, evolving to make them ever more relevant. — Chef Patrick Kriss

Alo’s wine list is first and foremost meant to pair with its cuisine. Bringing together producers with a shared sense of integrity but differing approaches to winemaking and the vine, it is a collection to satisfy both the curious and the connoisseur. Each day, Alo’s sommeliers and chefs collaborate to best frame each dish on our menu.

Last but not least, Alo’s Barroom is inspired by the casual elegance of the world’s great hotel bars. It offers a concise sharing-style, à la carte menu that is adapted from the Dining Room’s nightly offerings. Raw seafood items, meat-based entrées, vegetable-focused sides and desserts complement the bar’s classically-influenced cocktails and fine wines.
