H. Moser & Cie. has introduced a new Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition in a striking pink hue to align with the 2024 Miami Grand Prix festivities. This latest iteration serves as a nod to the traditional alternate livery of the BWT Alpine F1 Team’s racecar, contrasting with the primary blue of the initial release. It is available in a highly restricted batch of 20 units, sold exclusively through the H. Moser & Cie. website.

The BWT Alpine F1 Team is set to compete in two distinct liveries throughout the 2024 season, both incorporating a black base and designed by contemporary artist Felipe Pantone. The primary livery will be showcased in 16 races, featuring Alpine’s iconic blue mixed with black, while a vibrant pink livery will take precedence in eight races, symbolising the strong partnership with title sponsor BWT, now in its third year. Given this dual-livery approach, it was a natural progression for H. Moser & Cie. to mirror these themes in their watch designs.

Following the blue-accented first series of 100 pieces, this second edition radiates with an impactful pink. At the 12 o’clock position, the skeletonized dial is crowned with a small domed synthetic corundum dial, conforming to the sapphire crystal’s curvature and displaying BWT’s signature pink. This use of synthetic corundum, known for its intense hardness and clarity, amplifies the watch’s allure, showcasing a vivid transparency that accentuates its elegant design, devoid of any logo to maintain its aesthetic purity. The dial is complemented by indices coated in Super-Luminova and Globolight inserts on the blued hour and minute hands, ensuring optimal visibility even in low light.

For the strap, a pink moulded rubber has been chosen, mimicking the texture of a fabric strap, which balances comfort with a refined look. The watch’s internal mechanics are just as impressive as its external features. It houses the fully skeletonized automatic calibre HMC 811, visible from both the front and the back. The back reveals a large open-worked gold rotor, while the front features a one-minute flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock, with a blue cage bridge that complements the hands.

This movement is particularly notable for its cylindrical balance spring, a speciality of H. Moser & Cie.’s sister company, Precision Engineering AG. Crafting each cylindrical balance spring is an intricate process, requiring manual shaping and significantly more time than traditional balance springs. This blend of advanced engineering and historic craftsmanship highlights H. Moser & Cie.’s commitment to fusing classic techniques with modern design.

The Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition in Pink Livery is also practical for everyday wear due to its compact size and water resistance of up to 12 ATM. With only 20 pieces available for direct purchase, this model underscores its exclusivity. Additionally, a single unique piece from this collection will be auctioned, with all proceeds benefiting the AQUA PEARLS Foundation. Founded in 2016 by BWT and its CEO Andreas Weissenbacher, the foundation aims to enhance global access to clean water, thereby supporting poverty reduction, environmental protection, and sustainability initiatives.
