In 2021, Bianchet made its debut in the watch industry with the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork, setting the stage for its distinctive design ethos and future releases, including the 2023 Flying Tourbillon Grande Date. That same year marked Maserati’s return to open-wheel, single-seater motorsport after a 65-year absence, transitioning from traditional combustion engines to competing in the electric-powered Formula E series with the Monegasque Maserati MSG Racing team. This significant return coincided with the announcement of Bianchet as the official timekeeping partner for Maserati MSG Racing, culminating in the release of two limited-edition watches.

These special editions, designed in collaboration with Maserati MSG Racing, are based on Bianchet’s Flying Tourbillon Grande Date model. One edition utilizes Bianchet’s unique Titanium-Dust-High-Density Carbon, and the other combines titanium with carbon, both featuring blue rubber accents on the case and crown to honour the Maserati team colours.

The watches showcase several distinct features: the dial includes a minute track with blue markers at five-minute intervals and baton-style hour and minute hands with blue accents. Notably, the Maserati trident logo and Maserati MSG Racing branding replace the usual Bianchet logo at the 12 o’clock position, while the Bianchet name remains on the tourbillon’s backdrop at 6 o’clock, enhanced by a striking blue hue.

Designed for durability and daily wear, these watches are equipped with a titanium skeleton flying tourbillon movement that includes a big date display, engineered to resist shocks up to 5000G and water-resistant up to 100 meters. They also boast a substantial 90-hour power reserve. Each timepiece is fitted with a natural vulcanized rubber strap, offered in blue or black, which secures with a titanium folding clasp for maximum comfort and ease of use.

The Bianchet x Maserati MSG Racing Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B 1.618 is available in a very limited release of just 21 pieces per model, each priced at CHF 70,500 (taxes excluded). Owners of these exclusive watches gain a rare opportunity to delve deep into the world of Formula E racing. This privilege includes a visit to Maserati MSG Racing’s headquarters in Monaco, interactions with the racing drivers, and the exhilarating chance to drive the team’s advanced racing simulator.
