The Dubai Polo Gold Cup organization is locally organized but internationally recognized by bringing the Sport of Kings in the region since 2009 and placing Dubai at the forefront of the international polo circuit.

The Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series was founded under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. It started out with one tournament - the Gold Cup and has grown into a series five premier Polo Tournament in the Middle East - The Silver Cup, Julius Baer Gold Cup, Polo Masters Cup, Dubai Challenge Cup and the Dubai Cup.

The Series is one of only five tournaments in the world played in the WPT Championship Cup category, on a par with world-class events held in Argentina, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States.
