Domaine Georges Roumier was created in 1924. At that time, most of the production was sold to local merchants. In 1945, Georges Roumier initiated the practice of domaine bottling. Ever since, the reputation of the Roumier name has soared ever higher. In 1982, Christophe Roumier and his father Jean-Marie became partners to jointly manage Domaine Georges Roumier.
Christophe studied oenology at Dijon University and has achieved great standing on the Côte d’Or for his exceptional winemaking talent. Whilst consistency is key that is not to say that the approach is predetermined; each different growing season, and therefore, each crop treated accordingly with the wines expressing something of each vintage without its defects.
Today, the domaine covers close to 12 hectares in Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis and makes wines that are earthy, rustic, profound and elegant.
