Pinnacle One Yonge, a visionary waterfront development located at the intersection of North America’s longest street and Lake Ontario, is poised to redefine Toronto’s architectural and community landscape. This multi-phase project, encompassing five new towers and the re-cladding of the existing Toronto Star building across two city blocks, aims to intensify the urban streetscape through a blend of residential, commercial, and retail spaces designed for modern living.
The initial three phases focus on the North Block, featuring three residential towers (65, 105, and 92 storeys) including a hotel, affordable housing, a new community centre, and retail spaces. The 65-storey Prestige tower is currently underway, while the SkyTower, announced as Canada’s tallest residential building at 105 storeys, heralds a new era in high-rise living. Subsequent phases will introduce two office towers (22 and 40 storeys) to the South Block, alongside the revitalized Toronto Star building, enhancing the area’s commercial and retail offerings.
Central to the project’s design is the commitment to pedestrian and cyclist access, with plans to connect to public transit, improve and widen sidewalks, and establish north-south and east-west mid-block connections. This approach ensures seamless integration with the surrounding cityscape and fosters a vibrant, walkable community.
One Yonge’s connection to the climate-controlled PATH system offers direct access to Union Station, facilitating easy commutes and connections across the city and beyond. This strategic linkage underscores the development’s role as a gateway to Toronto’s waterfront and its developing community, setting a benchmark for dense, urban revitalization.
Designed by Pinnacle International with architecture by Hariri Pontarini Architects, One Yonge is the perfect definition of innovative architecture, featuring podiums connected by glass atriums, wide walkways, and internal gathering spaces rich with retail and community-focused areas. The project aims to transform the city’s skyline with its sleek, masterfully designed towers all while creating a new, lively downtown community, enhancing the public realm.
