The partnership between Hublot and Orlinski, a relationship cemented in 2017, has been a journey of explorative creativity, yielding timepieces that are as much a statement of art as they are instruments of time. Orlinski, known for his vibrant, faceted sculptures that play with light and shadow, has brought his distinctive style to the Classic Fusion series, transforming these watches into wearable sculptures. The collaboration’s success lies in its ability to infuse Hublot’s cutting-edge watchmaking with Orlinski’s bold, contemporary art, making each timepiece a unique blend of innovation and aesthetic appeal.

The Classic Fusion Tourbillon Orlinski series offers two striking models, each embodying the spirit of their creative journey. The first model dazzles in radiant yellow, a color that captures the essence of sunlight and conveys a sense of warmth and vitality. Every component of the watch, from its case and strap to the bezel and hands, is enveloped in this sunny hue, anchored by the manually wound HUB6021 movement.

This movement, a favorite among Hublot connoisseurs, features black PVD skeleton bridges that give the illusion of the watch’s components floating in space. The power reserve indicator and the tourbillon at 6 o’clock underscore the technical prowess of the piece, while sapphire crystal on both the front and back ensures that the watch glistens from every angle.

Conversely, the second model in the series embraces the tranquility and expansiveness of the sky with its sky blue color palette. This version contrasts with its yellow counterpart through the use of silver rhodium plating on the bridges, showcasing the meticulous finishes of each component. The choice between celestial blue and solar yellow offers collectors the opportunity to own a piece of the sky or the sun, with only 30 pieces available for each model, making them as exclusive as they are exquisite.

“By giving me carte blanche, Hublot has enabled me to explore new creative frontiers”, explains Richard Orlinski. “I’ve had the freedom to be able to take the Classic Fusion to the limits of its potential. Smooth yet dynamic, like the edges of its ceramic case, it embodies a kind of animality, the ‘Born Wild’ spirit that is a constant theme running through my work. I first imagined this design in 2004. That was 20 years ago. Today, I’m very proud to be showing the world, together with Hublot, that we’re still far from finished.”
