Encased in the iconic ‘Piccadilly’ design, the watch features a harmonious blend of platinum and Grade 5 titanium, complemented by sapphire elements that not only define its aesthetic appeal but also enhance the chime’s acoustic quality. The watch’s complexity is visually balanced with a 60-second flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock, opposite the visible Minute Repeater Carillon mechanism at 12 o’clock, which animates the 12-hour markers during chiming, a feature that preserves timekeeping accuracy while adding a dynamic visual element.
The heart of the Minute Repeater Carillon is its in-house calibre SMAHH-02. This manual movement, comprising 536 components, requires about a month to assemble, decorate, and set by a master watchmaker. Beyond its technical prowess, the watch is a visual spectacle, featuring an openworked dial that showcases the intricate inner workings, including the hammers and the tourbillon cage, all finished to the highest standards. The large red Roman numeral XII serves as an automaton, activated during the chiming sequence, collapsing and reassembling to mark the passage of time in a visually captivating manner.
