Tokyo Fashion Week S/S
The fashion week held in Tokyo is officially named the "Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO" and is hosted by the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFW Organization). It is held twice a year in March and August. Japan's latest creations are showcased to the world at Shibuya Hikarie and Omotesando Hills as well as other locations in Tokyo.
Fashion Week in Tokyo tends to focus on seamlessly integrating seemingly opposite concepts: urban streetwear with expensive labels, or iconic Japanese fashion with modern Western trends. And while Fashion Week only happens twice a year, you can almost always see this kind of juxtaposition of styles year-round.
Tokyo is already known as a fashion mecca where cutting-edge trends are tested, making it a place to watch for the future. With Tokyo Fashion Week growing and adding more local designers and foreign brands to its résumé, it's only a matter of time before Tokyo joins the "Big 4" fashion elite.
