Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph” Limited Edition

In collaboration with Haute Couture designer Tamara Ralph, Audemars Piguet has unveiled a limited edition Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon. The collaboration, revealed during Tamara Ralph’s runway show at the Paris Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture Fashion Week, is a celebration of the natural connections between Haute Horlogerie and Haute Couture.

These realms share a dedication to unparalleled craftsmanship, precision, and excellence. This partnership is a continuation of Audemars Piguet’s journey into the creative world, further strengthening its ties with the realms of design and fashion.

The Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph” Limited Edition is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. It showcases an 18-carat pink gold case adorned with the striking Frosted Gold technique. This technique, revitalized by jewellery designer Carolina Bucci and adapted by Audemars Piguet in 2016, creates a dazzling sparkle effect akin to precious stones. The visual impact is amplified by the polished bevel of the octagonal bezel, while the satin-brushed flanks of the case offer a compelling contrast.

The caseback features glare-proofed sapphire crystal, encased in an 18-carat pink gold octagonal frame, beautifully finished with satin brushing and polished chamfers. The hexagonal crown is another marvel, combining satin-brushed and polished finishing with a translucent cabochon-cut sapphire, adding a feminine touch to the case design.

The Royal Oak Concept, first introduced in 2002 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak, was a groundbreaking moment in Haute Horlogerie. This collection, initially conceived as a limited edition, has evolved into a platform for experimentation and innovation, combining unyielding materials, avant-garde designs, and innovative complications.

The collection’s journey into women’s timepieces began in 2018 with Audemars Piguet’s first flying tourbillon wristwatch for women. These timepieces, available in 18-carat white gold, disrupted the traditional aesthetic with their brilliant and baguette-cut diamonds. The collection continued to evolve, introducing models that played with diamonds and coloured gemstones.

In 2020, the collection welcomed its first women’s Flying Tourbillon model in Frosted Gold, available in both white and pink gold and complemented by a multi-layered dial in graded blue tones. The latest iteration, the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph” Limited Edition, is a timeless reference to the bold and powerful aesthetics of the Royal Oak Concept, now merged with the luxurious and imaginative style of Tamara Ralph’s Haute Couture.
