Edition Hotels has launched its first venture in Jeddah in a remarkable collaboration among Marriott International, Edition Hotels, and Yabu Pushelberg, orchestrated under the visionary direction of Sela and its Managing Director, Dr. Rakan Al Harthi. The result is a unique entity that perfectly integrates Eastern traditions with Western innovation, offering an unmatched hospitality experience. The lobby areas, always lively and inviting, are the heartbeat of every Edition property. Under 12-metre-high ceilings, a prominent orange acrylic sphere by artist Vincent Leroy captures the essence of Jeddah’s iconic sunrises and sunsets. Morning light filters through the installation, casting a warm glow over the sleek white oak walls and travertine floors. The reception area, featuring a walnut-panelled niche and a sculptural solid walnut desk, is furnished with upholstered wingback chairs, a precious Iranian silk Persian rug, and a Christian Liaigre console and lighting. The ground floor elevator lobby offers an aesthetically pleasing moment, showcasing a moulded and oxidized tinted glass mirror by artist Christopher Gaignon.

The adjacent Lobby Lounge extends into an interconnected series of welcoming spaces. Flanked by two large-scale golden acrylic wooden panel paintings by New York City-based artist John Jackson, these pieces capture and enhance the changing light, reflecting the golden tones and paying tribute to both Saudi Arabian culture and Jeddah’s stunning sunsets. The elegant setting includes curvilinear Molteni&C sofas, Henge tables, and white linen Avenue Road club chairs positioned around white marble coffee tables. The nearby Lobby Bar features a black-and-white photography series by artist Richard Phibbs, an original royal purple billiard table by Blatt Billiards, and a custom gold leaf framed mirror above a Nero Marquina marble counter. new era of prosperity and growth.

“Maritime,” the hotel’s signature restaurant led by chef Cédric Vongerichten, offers a French-Asian culinary experience.
