The Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence is part of the  Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne. The Bürgenstock resort is legendary in Switzerland, sitting 500m above Lake Lucerne in the clean, green pristine alpine foothills. Now a modern incarnation, there has been a resort on this forested ridge since 1873. In one of the world’s most stunning settings, in a country renowned for its hospitality, a trendsetting new destination has debuted.

The resort comprises a total inventory of 383 rooms spread across four hotels: the Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa, 5-star superior; the Palace Hotel & Conferences, 4-star superior; the Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence, a 5-star medical hotel; and the Taverne 1879, the 3-star Swiss inn. In addition, the resort boasts 67 residence suites, 12 restaurants, lounges and bars, a 10,000m2 (107,000 ft2) Alpine spa, meeting space for up to 800 people and a wide range of leisure activities – not to mention the highest outdoor elevator in Europe – and a funicular that deposits guests directly inside the hotel. A three Davis Cup tennis courts, a nine-hole Alpine golf course and 43 miles of hiking and biking trails, and a private lido on the lake will keep active guests busy and happy.

The five-star Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence hotel provides 160 rooms and suites, all facing south and all boasting a comfortable sun terrace. Also part of the hotel: the Verbena Restaurant & Bar with a show kitchen, the “Cooking Lab” teaching kitchen, two private rooms (the “Séjour Calame” and the “Simmentaler Stube”), a library and four conference rooms. A 4,200-square-meter Health & Medical Centre and the Waldhotel spa, with a zone exclusively for women, complete the offerings. This exceptional hotel was designed by the Italian architect Matteo Thun.  Right on the inner side of the Bürgenstock mountain, the Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence steps gently down the slope. Thanks to its terrace structure, the green naturally insulated flat roofs and a construction made of local stones, the Waldhotel blends perfectly into the landscape.

Waldhotel offers access to diagnostic, rehabilitative and therapeutic services, movement therapy, dental health, cosmetic procedures, sports medicine, weight management and mental wellbeing to name just a few. Matched with innovative healthy cuisine and cutting-edge spa treatments, guests can expect to re-set, re-energize, detox, de-stress, and relax through restorative medical methods in a unique destination surrounded by nature and serenity.
