Nestled against the mountainside, Le Coucou is perfect for those looking for a luxuriously authentic take on Méribel, with their families, and in absolute privacy and discretion. Share

Known for their nonchalant coolness, cuckoos are particularly mischievous birds who always pick the best spots. Perched high on the mountainside, Méribel’s Le Coucou is one of a kind, with breathtaking views and the unique possibility of setting out for the slopes on foot from the hotel.

Ready for adventure, Le Coucou is a special nest from where guests can enjoy all the resources the ski resort has to offer, from snowshoe treks to explore Méribel’s hidden gems, to pony sledging for the little ones, tandem paragliding, and so much more.

The hotel is located in the prime position of Meribel, the central resort of the Three Valleys, the largest ski-area in the world. Positioned between Courchevel and Val Thorens which hosts the highest resort in Europe, Meribel is ideally located to gain the most from the Three Valleys. Le Coucou is nestled in the exclusive area of Belvedere in a peaceful piste-side location and is ski-in/ski-out, which is the pinnacle of luxury in ski accommodation.

Méribel caters for all ages and ski abilities and has so much more than just skiing and snowboarding to offer its visitors. From hiking in the forest on snowshoe or on snowmobile, dog or pony sledging down the slopes, magical hot-air balloon rides and paragliding amongst the clouds or snow yoga on the slopes, the possibilities are endless.

A selection of outdoor activities are available to younger guests including: visiting a local yeti park and carrousel, pony sledding, and an exhilarating ride around the mini snowmobile track.

Le Coucou has been designed in its entirety by renowned interior architect, Pierre Yovanovitch boasting two private chalets, two restaurants, a bar, a Tata Harper Spa, two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor, a fitness room, sauna and two kid’s clubs. At first sight, Le Coucou hides its true nature. Perfectly blended into the environment, it has all the codes of the traditional chalet, but it hugs the slope, stretching over 10 floors without seeming to.

The effect of surprise is immediate from the entrance: the reception is in the shape of a huge circle, topped with a wonderful skylight. The rooms and suites have the same pure lines, where wood and stone contrast with wool and metal, glass and leather. Everywhere, antique furniture and designs by the architect create a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Italian Biancaneve restaurant, created by Riccardo Giraudi, has been revamped for the new season by extending the windows to allow for panoramic views across the valley. Guests get to see unique fabrics covering the top part of the walls and impressive tiling glimmer behind the bar area. The restaurant serves authentic Italian food including Mushroom Cannelloni with fontina cheese and truffle, Puntarelle salad with Straciatella cheese and anchovy dressing, Pizza Stracchino with stracchino cheese, rucola, prosciutto ham and truffle.

New additions to the menu include tartiflette with beef prosciutto, gratin dauphinois and a delicious beef stew.

Last but not least, the hotel’s indoor and outdoor pool, six massage treatment rooms with specialist treatments from Tata Harper and a sauna area offer guests a deeply relaxing experience after a day of skiing. The pool areas, divided by a bay window create a stunning, trompe-l’oeil effect with views of the striking vista outdoors. State-of-the-art fitness equipment, boxing facilities and a dedicated space for Pilates and yoga all offer panoramic views across the peaks.
