Set on one of the lushest natural islands in the Raa Atoll, Amari Raaya Maldives is set to open in early summer, celebrating the art and beauty of the archipelago’s natural riches. Located 45 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport, Amari Raaya Maldives is an accessible option for travellers visiting the Maldives and it is the second Maldives hotel opened by ONYX Hospitality Group.
The resort introduces a variety of all-villa accommodation options on the island and over water, ranging from 61 sq. m to 1228 sq. m. Other feature highlights include seven dining options, a Maai Spa and comprehensive facilities for young children and teenagers. Families and groups can opt for a Family Beach or Family Beach Pool Villa, a unique accommodation style, offering two interconnected villas and a shared private outdoor living space for quality time together.
Situated on one of the largest natural islands in Raa Atoll, at 390,000 square metres (39 hectares), Amari Raaya has been sympathetically designed to limit the impact on the indigenous flora and fauna, with much of the lush forest reserved for guest enjoyment, including a natural mangrove with walking path, ideal for exploring. The local reef is also home to an abundance of ocean life including sea turtles and in the season the famous bioluminescent plankton.
Commenting on the opening, Mr. Yuthachai Charanachitta, Owner and CEO, ONYX Hospitality Group said: “We are delighted to be nearing completion of Amari Raaya Maldives. This island will have so much to offer, the scale of the resort is impressive, as is the natural beauty of the island. Together with our partner, Panchshil Realty, we eagerly anticipate sharing the resort with the world when it launches this summer.”
At Amari Raaya Maldives, your dining experience will be truly exceptional with seven international restaurants to choose from, along with personalized in-room and destination dining options. One of the primary dining spots is the Amaya Food Gallery, where you can enjoy a wide selection of cuisines served all day, with an international buffet as the day’s highlight. For a spectacular sunset dining experience, head over to Ambers, a rooftop lounge and bar that serves Asian wok and grill specialities alongside creatively-crafted cocktails, accompanied by a DJ and other musical entertainment.
The SOAQ is a pool bar that offers delicious pizzas and beverages, while The Village Cafe is the perfect spot to enjoy a variety of coffee blends, pastries, sandwiches, and ice cream. And for a unique dining experience, check out Seb’s Shack, a tribute to the enigmatic Sebastian, which serves mouthwatering dishes and beverages in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
The resort island is a haven of relaxation and adventure, with an outdoor swimming pool and a kids’ pool, a wellness centre boasting 10 treatment rooms, a kids’ club with an outdoor play area, an archery area, and campsites for outdoor enthusiasts. Guests can take a stroll through the mangrove discovery walkway, engage in arts and crafts at the studio, dine in the watch towers while stargazing, keep fit at the fitness centre or yoga pavilion, and indulge in a variety of water sports or games courts.
