A collaboration between Aston Martin and Triton Submarines, Project Neptune is a strictly Limited Edition luxury submersible. The stunning result of a meticulous attention to detail promises to deliver the best performing, most engaging personal submersible ever conceived.
The teams at Aston Martin and Triton share a determination to create an iconic submersible in-keeping with the principles held deep by the other. Project Neptune will be the first submersible to earn a pair of the legendary Aston Martin Wings.
In developing Project Neptune’s propulsion system, the teams were challenged to create a submersible that dives as an Aston Martin drives; with a comfort and potency that is endlessly enjoyable.
In forming Project Neptune, Aston Martin has realized their goal of creating a submersible which expresses the same design, engineering and performance hallmarks as their limited-production, $4 million hypercar, the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Taking advantage of Triton’s compact LP Platform, the team were able to sculpt a form with proportions that remain quintessentially Aston Martin.
Triton’s iconic spherical pressure hull is wrapped in a spectacular iridium-coated protective canopy. The metal oxide-veneer is not only beautiful, but provides clarity of vision on the surface and contrast below.
Two elegantly proportioned sweeping side-pods eschew external equipment in favour of a deliberate visual clarity. Combined with the exposed carbon fibre wing, the exterior offers a striking visual reference to the submersible’s incredible performance.
Triton worked with Aston Martin to develop a propulsion system that maintained the level of fine-grained precision Triton submersibles are renowned for, while providing the unprecedented level of performance desired by Aston Martin. Project Neptune features four times the power-to-weight ratio of Triton’s flagship Professional-level submersible.
Tight integration between propulsion, trim, and control systems allowed the engineering teams to gift Project Neptune agile, dynamic handling characteristics. Unlike typical Triton submersibles which favour a neutral, flat dive attitude, Project Neptune has been engineered to tilt as it dives and carve smooth, sweeping arcs as it turns. These characteristics provide an exhilarating sense of connection, an important a deliberate echo of Aston Martin’s performance sports cars.
Cosseted in luxurious comfort, the interior of Project Neptune is a uniquely relaxing environment in which to enjoy the immersive and captivating experience of diving a Triton submersible.
Aston Martin’s interior design team have endeavored to enhance this experience with fine, natural materials that offer warmth and tactility. Meticulous attention to detail is realised through extraordinary craftsmanship inside as well as out. From the delicately hand-stitched seats to the exquisitely engraved fascia panels, the interior is as welcoming as the exterior is elegant.
