The Imperiale collection is a majestic, sensual, sophisticated and elegant design inspired by the age of empires. Imperiale Tourbillon crystallises the entire range of the Maison’s expertise in the two areas that have made its reputation. The breathtaking gemsetting is a demonstration of virtuoso skills, while the finely crafted hand-wound movement entirely designed, developed and produced in-house is equipped with a tourbillon.
Entirely developed, produced and assembled in Chopard’s Haute Horlogerie workshops and chronometer-certified by the COSC, the L.U.C 96.24-C mechanical self-winding movement is similar to the first automatic flying tourbillon calibre developed by Chopard Manufacture. It beats at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hz) and has a 65-hour power reserve thanks to Twin Technology, a system invented by Chopard that combines two coaxial barrels.
The latter represent a particularly remarkable technical feat given the extreme thinness of the movement, which is just 3.3 mm thick. This movement bearing the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark and chronometer-certified by the COSC wound by means of an entirely gemset platinum rotor.
