Paris Photo Fair, 7-10 November 2019, Grand Palais, Paris

Europe's largest international photo fair returns for its 23rd edition at the Grand Palais to showcase works by 213 exhibitors. Share

This year, the 23rd edition of Paris Photo will be held from Thursday, November 7 to Sunday, November 10 at the Grand Palais Paris. The Paris Photo Fair is considered to be the largest international fair for the photographic medium and this November it will include 213 exhibitors from across 31 different countries. These 213 exhibitors will consist of 180 galleries and 33 publishers which will be spread across five different sectors in the venue: MAIN GALLERY, BOOK, PRISMES, CURIOSA and FILM.

The PRISMES, CURIOSA and FILM sectors will be curated with PRISMES and CURIOSA each having 14 projects on display this year. While PRISMES will display works by exhibitors which will showcase ‘exceptional large-format, series, and installation projects exploring the photographic medium in its most diverse forms and practices’, CURIOSA will be showcasing the works of new and emerging artists.

Furthermore, CURIOSA will be organised by the British-Ghanian curator and writer Osei Bonsu and will aim to address the relationship between photography and the physical world. The final curated sector FILM will be organised by Matthieu Orléan, the artistic advisor at La Cinémathèque Française, and Pascale Cassagnau, the Head of Audiovisual Collections and New Media at the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap). Through their curation of FILM, Orléan and Cassagnau aim to shed light on ‘the relationship between still and moving images in artistic creation’.

With such a large variety of projects and exhibitions, the Paris Photo Fair is an event that is not to be missed.
