Arcomadrid, International Contemporary Art Fair, 26 February – 1 March 2020

ARCOmadrid is Madrid’s International Contemporary Art Fair. It is one of the main contemporary art fairs on the international circuit and is held every February in the Spanish capital. Share

ARCOmadrid 2020 will present a careful selection of national and international galleries, under the General Programme as well as in the curated sections: Dialogues, lead by Agustín Pérez-Rubio and Lucia Sanromán; Opening, lead by Tiago de Abreu Pinto and Övül ö. Durmusoglu and It’s Just a Matter of Time lead by Alejandro Cesarco, Mason Leaver-Yap and Manuel Segade in the discursive program.

ARCOmadrid 2020 will bring together 210 galleries from 30 countries. The event will again revolve around the General Programme, consisting of 171 galleries selected by the Organisers’ Committee, in addition to the curated sections.

The upcoming edition will feature galleries that have placed their trust in ARCOmadrid such as Massimo Minini and Francesa Minini; Perrotin; Sies+Höke; Buchholz; Barbara Weiss; Nordenhake and Jan Mot. Among the returning galleries are Ellen de Bruijne Projects; Hollybush Gardens; Martin Janda. In addition to other important ones that keep their commitment to the Fair such as Hauser & Wirth; Thaddeaus Ropac; Chantal Crousel; Esther Schipper; Meyer Riegger; Continua; Fortes d’Aloia & Gabriel; Dvir and Luisa Strina.

ARCOmadrid is also interested in presenting new galleries which, either because of their reduced trajectory or because they are recent arrivals on the Spanish scene, present interesting proposals and allow other creators to be discovered. Along this line, and through both the General Programme and the curated sections, the Fair will be a place to explore galleries such as Anglim Gilbert; Cortesi; Fran Reus; Gypsum; Higher Pictures; Krakow Witkin Gallery; Movart; Superficie; Suprainfinit and The Pill.

Along with the contents of the galleries, ARCOmadrid will present other spaces that will help broaden visitors’ vision of contemporary art. As a novelty in this edition, ARCO offers a service of guided visits for the public with contemporary art professionals. The visits are scheduled for the weekend -Friday 28, Saturday 29 February, and Sunday 1 March-, at four different times available for each day: 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
