British Grand Prix
F1 drivers call the Formula 1 Rolex British Grand Prix at the iconic Silverstone Circuit ‘insanely fast’. We simply call it one of the world’s greatest sporting events. In addition to all of the exciting track action, there is also an incredible line up of concerts and entertainment activities across the weekend for fans.
The British Grand Prix has produced some of Formula One’s most historic and memorable records and races. Silverstone hosted the first Formula One Grand Prix championship race in May 1950, won by Giuseppe “Nino” Farina in an Alfa Romeo in front of the watching King George VI.
Together with the Italian Grand Prix they are the only two Formula One World Championship Grands Prix that have been staged during every season that the championship has been held.
