Australian Three Day Event
The Australian International 3-Day Event is an annual 3-day event in the sport of equestrian and is held in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. The event is unique in being held in a city centre (taking place in the Adelaide Park Lands) but like most modern 3-day events, it takes place over 4 days.
The Adelaide International Horse Trials was an event first held in 1997. It replaced the Gawler Horse Trials which had taken place outside of the city since 1954. In its period as the Gawler Trials, it was a successful competition and was selected to host the Eventing World Championship in 1986.
After moving to Adelaide, the event was known as the Adelaide International Horse Trials until 2007 and has developed significantly into a popular event where spectators can enjoy the excitement of intense competition.
