San Fermin Festival
The Pamplona Bull Run is an event on many people’s bucket list. One of Spain’s most celebrated traditions, the San Fermin Festival is staged every year in July, when over one million tourists descend on Navarre’s historic capital to witness the adrenaline-fueled spectacle of runners pursued by noble fighting beasts.
Much more than bull runs, bullfights and unbridled partying, the Fiestas de San Fermin are a time of reflection and respect. From the moment the first rocket is fired, Pamplona transforms into a buzzing haven of fraternity, happiness and warmth – a place where young and old, religious and secular, modern and ancient unite.
Even if you have no interest in bulls, you can still enjoy the fiestas to the maximum. There are many people, and indeed, many local people who enjoy the fiestas intensely and who never watch either the Running of the Bulls or the Bullfights.
