ARCOmadrid was born as a gallery fair with the intention of bringing together an artistic offer ranging from the historical avant-garde to the latest emerging art, including modern art and contemporary art . The first edition was held in 1982, organized by the gallery owner Juana de Aizpuru.

Today ARCOmadrid, International Contemporary Art Fair is organised by IFEMA with over 200 galleries from 30 countries taking part in the General Programme, Dialogues and Special Projects.

In addition to artists and galleries, the offer for visitors includes special events, catering and resting areas, collecting advisory programmes like First Collector, as well as other activities both inside ARCOmadrid and in cultural venues and institutions around the city.

Our lifestyle team is on hand to provide a bespoke hospitality experience for our members at the ARCOmadrid in Madrid.
