Domain Leroy is notably producing the finest red Burgundy wines on the Cote d`Or. Its founder, Lalou Bize-Leroy ,started out as a négociant, working for her family's Maison Leroy, which was founded by her father, Henri.

There are now three entities under Lalou's supervision, the Maison Leroy based in Auxey-Duresses; the Domaine d’Auvenay named for Lalou Bize-Leroy’s own home near St-Romain, and Domaine Leroy in Vosne-Romanée.

Lalou arduously promotes biodynamic cultivation on all the vineyards. From her profound belief that everything is alive: the soil, the grounds, plants, “…as alive as animals and humans…”, she immediately stopped using any products with synthetic chemicals on the vines. From September 1988, all the vines are completely and entirely cultivated under biodynamic principles.
