Château Angélus
Château Angélus, is a Bordeaux wine from the appellation Saint-Émilion, since 2012 ranked Premier grand cru classé (A) in the Classification of Saint-Émilion wine. The winery is located on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux wine region, in the commune of Saint-Émilion in the department Gironde.
The good distribution between limestone and clay between 8 and 20% allows a regular supply of water and minerals. The rootstocks are ideally adapted to the soil and the grape varieties divided according to the soil: Merlots on the coast (more clay) and Cabernets Francs in high proportion (46% of the encépagement) on the sand-clay and limestone soils of the pied de side.
The Angelus style is the marriage of a bold encépagement with an exceptional terroir. It is this unique character born from the south coast of Saint-Emilion and its high proportion of cabernet franc that we like to find over the years. It is a re-orchestrated composition every year, always in search of excellence.
