The House of Chanel originated in 1909 when Gabrielle Chanel opened a millinery shop at 160 Boulevard Malesherbes whilst Chanel High Jewelry was founded in November 1932. Chanel debuted 'Bijoux de Diamants' at her Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris mansion.

In 2012, the company created a special collection to celebrate Diamants' 80th anniversary. Current collections include High Jewelry, Camelia, Comete, Coco Crush, Baroque, 1932, Ultra, Bridal and Jewelry Watches.

Each piece is made entirely by hand, from the initial design sketch by the High Jewellery Artistic Director, to the construction and creation of the piece by the craftspeople in the atelier.

Within the High Jewellery atelier of Chanel at 18 Place Vendôme, the jewellers create precious models that embody the traditional, French savoir-faire process.
