Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is a designer and an artist. "The poncho for two, the astro turf body warmer, the 'Teddy Bear' jacket or the anorak made of multicolored feathers ... Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's creations take on the playful aspect of childhood and pop art codes, in a style inspired by his 70s, Andy Warhol, the Sex Pistols, Takashi Kenzo and Raoul Hausmann.

In 1985, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac was the first fashion designer to be invited to show at the Museum of Modern Art in Troyes. In 1986, an exhibition was dedicated to the Institute of Technology of New York, followed by another exhibition in his honor called "Antikörper" in 1988, at Vienna's Academy of Applied Arts, where he taught fashion from 1985.
