Lanvin
Lanvin is a French multinational high fashion house, which was founded by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889. Lanvin made such beautiful clothes for her daughter Marie-Blanche de Polignac that they began to attract the attention of a number of wealthy people who requested copies for their own children.
Soon, Lanvin was making dresses for their mothers, and some of the most famous names in Europe were included in the clientele of her new boutique on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
The House of Lanvin is the oldest fashion house in the world. Since its creation by Mme Jeanne Lanvin in 1889 it had remained under the control of the Lanvin family up until the 1990s. Keepers of exceptional expertise, Lanvin’s ateliers passionately commit themselves each season to the service of a high-end ready-to-wear line. In the heart of Paris, sample makers, clothiers, and machinists give life to the design studio’s ideas.
